SUBMISSION OF PRESENTATION PROPOSAL
We invite all members of IIBA interested in presenting a workshop, a verbal or a visual communication during the Conference to send their proposals.
Proposals shall be filled in and sent exclusively by electronic means, through this site.
The system to receive proposals will be available from February 28th / 2009 through 12pm June 30th / 2009.
One, two or three authors may register for each presentation. Each author shall write the number of his identity document (the same number used in Registration for the Conference) to initiate the process.
One form shall be filled for each presentation, if you want to send more than one. In the case of two or three authors, each author shall fill his own personal Registration Form for the Conference.
The registration of proposals will be considered by the Scientific Committee when the Registration Form for the Conference (first) and the Form Submission of Presentation Proposal have been fully completed with your information.
The presentations are the exclusive responsibility of the author(s) and it is expected that the action of sending in a proposal represents a commitment by the author(s), if accepted, to actually give that presentation during the Conference.
Abstracts and summaries, when accepted, will be automatically available for publication in the program and in the annals of the Conference.
Criteria that will be applied to select projects
- A material closely connected to the theme of the Conference
- A material presented with clarity
- A material that does not duplicate another project of similar content and format
- A material sent earlier in the process (if there is a problem because of limited number of rooms, for proposals that fulfill the first two criteria, the “first come, first serve” principle would then be applied)
Types of Presentation:
Poster : size = 1m x 1.60m or 40” X 65”. Posters will be exposed in an area where public circulate during the Conference. Presenter may stay near (his/her) poster during breaks, to answer questions from those interested. The poster shall contain name of author(s) and email for contact. The content may be text and images.
Verbal communication: (1hour 15´ total time) Verbal communications with similar themes or themes that have some affinity may be presented in the format of a “round table” ; each presenter will have 20 minutes to expose, followed by time for discussion with the audience or among themselves.
Verbal communication: (1 hour) Theoretical presentation consisting of discussion of clinical material, field research, case study, etc.
Experiential: (1 hour 15') A short introduction of theoretical concepts, followed by demonstration and/or experimentation of body work, psychotherapeutic techniques and eventually a discussion.
Experiential with theoretical explanation: (2 hours) A presentation on theoretical concepts and/or clinical material, followed by demonstration and/or experimentation of body work, psychotherapeutic techniques and a discussion.
Title, Abstract and Summary
The title, the Abstract and the Summary shall be written in English and in your original language (if different from English). The field of Summary may receive a maximum of 3000 Characters (spaces included). The space for Abstract allows for 400 characters (spaces included).
Second language in your presentation
If you can communicate in another language than the language informed in the registration (or provide a translator), please use the last line of your Summary to inform this. The offer of a second language will appear in the program and it may open possibilities for more people to attend your presentation. Just write: Second language:xxxxx
Confirmation of reception of proposal
You will receive shortly an electronic confirmation of the reception of your proposal. This means it will be included in the selection process. Acceptance of proposal
After the conclusion of the selection process, you will receive a communication about the acceptance of your work. Please confirm promptly reception of this communication. After that date, you will have 10 days to complete your Conference Registration, in case it has not been done yet. The acceptance of your proposal will be considered effective after payment of the Conference fee.
Distribution of participants to attend presentations
Participants will be allocated to the presentations of their choice, pending on: a) the availability of space; b) the number of participants specified by the presenter; c) on “a first come first take basis” for those who make their ‘pre-registration for workshops’. This shall be done promptly after publication of the program. Participants will be asked to make 3 choices for each period, which will be contemplated according to the criteria (a) (b) and (c) above.
Please send your proposal starting from February 28th 2009,
but no later than June 30th /2009
